CMC 850 User Manual
5.4 External Interface (“ext. Interf.”)
The interface connector “external Interface” holds four transistor binary outputs (Bin. out
11 - 14).
Bin. out 11 - 14 are bounce-free binary outputs (small signals) and have a minimal
reaction time.

Time Synchronization
To use the OMICRON-supplied
CMIRIG-B
interface unit as reference for the a time synchronization of
the IEC 61850 bus system, connect the
CMIRIG-B
‘s front side connector “CMC” to the
CMC 850
‘s
“external Interface” connector. This provides both the IRIG-B or PPS reference signal to
CMC 850
and
the power supply for the
CMIRIG-B
.
