Chapter 6 Measurement procedures

6.2

Using reference length to measure object

length (scaler measurement)

Scaler measurement is done by using an object in the observation screen that
has a known length as a reference length and then using that value to measure
the length of the object.

CAUTION

•

If the reference length is not correct, high accuracy cannot be achieved. Also, do a
preliminary measurement to assure that the object that will be the reference and the object
that will be measured are positioned with the same optical axis and perpendicularity.

Attaching the optical adapter

Attach optical adapters, other than stereo optical adapters, to the
scope distal end by following the procedure described in
“Attaching and detaching the optical adapter” (page 52).

The type of optical adapter is automatically recognized when it is
attached while the live screen is displayed and a message like the
one shown below is displayed.

Make sure that the name of the optical adapter is correct.
