Scanner Assembly and Setup

9.

Install the new probe onto the wedge.

Before installing a new probe on the wedge, ensure that there is a sufficient amount of 
couplant between the probe and the wedge.

10. Tighten the screws that hold the probe on the wedge.

Do not overtighten the screws: overtightening might crack the wedge.

11. Reinstall the yoke on the wedge.
12. Reinstall the probe assembly on the spring-loaded arm.

This concludes the procedure for replacing a phased array probe.

2.4

Changing the Frame Bar Sections

When necessary, the frame bar sections of the scanner can be replaced with sections of 
a different length to suit physical constraints or probe-configuration requirements.
