7.1 Cleaning of each part
Lens and filter
Do not leave stains or fingerprints on the lenses or filters. If they get dirty, blow away dust with a commercially available
blower and gently wipe the lens or filter with a piece of cleaning paper (or washed-out clean gauze).
Only when cleaning fingerprints and oil stains, slightly moisten a piece of cleaning paper with commercially available
absolute alcohol and wipe them off with it.
WARNING
Since the absolute alcohol is highly flammable, it must be handled carefully. Be sure to keep it away
from open flames or potential sources of electrical sparks.
For example, the electrical equipment that is switched ON and OFF may cause the ignition of a fire.
Also, always use the absolute alcohol only in a well-ventilated room.
Lens attachment
If the lens attachment does not move smoothly, wipe the lens attachment with dry soft cloth and remove the wear powder.
The lubricant is applied to the portion where the lens attachment and the zoom head are connected. Be careful not to wipe
off the lubricant too much.
Portions other than lenses
Wipe the portions other than lenses with a dry soft cloth. If dirt/dust cannot be removed by dry-wiping, moisten a soft
cloth with diluted neutral detergent and wipe off dirt/dust with it.
NOTE
Do not use organic solvents because they may deteriorate the coated surface or plastic parts.
Polarized illumination adapter, diffused illumination adapter
If you repeat attaching or detaching the adapter, the wear powder may be attached to the inside of the polarized
illumination addater or the diffused illumination addater. In this case, wipe the plate with dry soft cloth to remove the wear
powder.
Calibration sample
If dust/dirt is attached to the calibration sample, blow off dust/dirt by an air duster before use.
If dirt/dust cannot be removed by blowing, wipe it off gently with a gauze slightly moistened with commercially available
absolute alcohol.
Do not wipe off dirt/dust strongly. This could damage the sample pattern.
