GENERAL
Τhe ΒS-3001 is a device that has a siren, beacon, manual call
point and back up lighting with LEDs all in one unit.
It can be activated manually by pressing the manual call point. In
every power supply failure, the unit automatically turns the LED in
back up operation.
In this state, all the functions of the unit operate normally. If an
alarm has not been issued then the back up lighting will operate for
only 90 minutes in order to conserve battery power for an eventual
fire alarm.
If an alarm is given simultaneously with the power supply failure
then the total autonomous duration of the system will be
approximately the same as the duration of the back up illumination.
If the alarm is given after a mains power supply failure then that
total duration of the system will be at least 90 minutes. When the
mains power supply is restored then the unit continues its normal
operation.
The device has a TEST button which activates the back up lighting
for as long as it is pressed.
INDICATION LED
The device has a green LED which is used to show that the
batteries are charging when the
mains power supply is active. An LED that is not lit usually denotes
that the battery is not connected. If the battery is connected then it
usually denotes a faulty battery which must be replaced. Please note
that the microprocessor of the unit manages the battery in the best
possible
way.
RESETTING THE MANUAL CALL POINT BUTTON
To reset the manual call point button, after is has been pressed, to
its original position, use the supplied plastic key. Insert the key into
the slot, rotate 90 degrees and pull on the key until the button locks
into position.
The unit has an input for connecting an external call point button.
The external button must be of the latching type and must have the
same operation as the built in button. The resetting of the call point
button cancels the alarm. The activation of the unit using the call
point button must be done periodically (i.e. Every month) in order to
verify the good operation of the unit.
INSTALLATION
To install the device follow the installation instructions as described
on page 2.
WARNING !!!
1. Every maintenance, inspection and installation operation must be
done only by qualified service personnel.
