ID unit and toner cartridge

Confirmation Tasks

Is ID unit set in position?
Check whether lock lever of toner cartridge is locked.

Action at NG

Reset normally.

Confirmation Tasks

Does the core of toner sensor get dirty from toner?

By using the switch scanning test function of the maintenance 
utility, check whether the sensor is normal. Check whether the 
SCAN condition is changed with a white paper covering in 
front of sensor.
Furthermore, start the printer with right side cover removed, 
and check whether the red lamp of toner sensor blinks over 
PRE board.

Action at NG

Wipe the dirt of sensor 
off.

Replace the toner 
sensor board (PRE 
PCB) or main board 
(TB3 PCB) or FFC 
between PRE-TB3 with 
new one.
