Printer Administration
To manage the Printer, first register an administrator and then enable printer
administration.
Administrator registration allows the following printer administration operations.
- Prevent changes to the Printer settings by unspecified users.
- Prevent access to the Printer logs by unspecified users.
- Prevent access or initialization of accounting information by unspecified users.
- Prevent access to the Printer setting information by unspecified users.
- Standard-user job operations by user administrators.
- Registration for user authentication by user administrators.
- Printer version upgrades by user administrators.
User Administrators and Standard Users
When printer administration is enabled, standard users can copy, submit, scan, and
print. However, only user administrators can perform actions such as changing the
Printer settings.
To enable printer administration, one supervisor and one user administrator are required.
Administrators are classified into two as follows.
- Supervisor (up to three can be registered)
- User administrator (up to five can be registered)
The following management privileges can be assigned to individual user
administrators.
- Printer administration
- Job management
- Log management
