1.4 Commissioning
1.4.1 General
The pump/pump unit may be commissioned only by the trained personnel of the
operating party or by members of the Barmag pump service.
1.4.2 Inspection
After the pump has been properly assembled in the line, the following tests must
be carried out prior to commissioning:

Check the tightening torques of the pump fastening screws (refer to
tion 1.2.2: “Pump drawing” [6]
▶
Inspect the tightening torques of the drive's fastening screws.
WARNING
Hazard due to "sliding" drive
Operating the drive is only permitted after fastening it firmly on the foundation
or the like.

Check the ease of pump rotation.

Check the direction of rotation of the drive (see

Section 1.2.2: “Pump drawing” [6]
for permissible direction of
rotation).
The wrong rotation direction can damage the pump and the installation.
▶
Check whether the protective cover is correctly assembled on the bracket.
1.4.3 Start-up of the Pump
WARNING
Uncontrolled pressure build-up and risk of injuries due to rotating
parts
In case of network operation, the drive starts without control due to an ex-
ternal inverter or when the manual control device of an internal inverter is
activated.

Adjust the external control unit, the external inverter or the manual control
device of the internal inverter so as to make sure that the pump drive
does not start automatically when the device is activated.

Operation of the pump unit without protective cover is not permitted.
