The outdoor temperature from which
part of the heat load is taken over by the
auxiliary heater, is set here. It should not
be switched on until the output that is
demanded is greater than the heat pump
can provide, due to the low outdoor tem-
perature.

If the bivalent point is set too high, there may be
higher running costs due to the auxiliary heater

If the bivalent point is set too low, the heat pump
