14. Electric auxiliary heater
Note
The activity of the electric auxiliary heater has the
option to be shown on the heat pump display.

Inform OCHSNER Customer Service during
commissioning if you require this optional ver-
sion (CH).
14.1 Position of the auxiliary heater
The electric auxiliary heater can be installed at various
points in the heating system, depending on the heat pump
and heating system. Subject to the position, only the pa-
rameters applicable to your system are displayed on the
controller.
The following electric auxiliary heaters are possible:

14.2 Operating program
Operating program Description
Off The auxiliary heater is switched off. Frost
protection remains active.
Automatic The auxiliary heater operates in automatic
mode. Depending on the heat demand,
it will be switched on and off automati-
cally. The auxiliary heater is not normally
switched on until the bivalent point is un-
dershot.
In exceptional cases the auxiliary heater
may also switch on irrespective of the bi-
valent point:
The auxiliary heater switches on if the heat
pump is not enabled as the heat generator.
This can happen if there is a fault or the
limits of use have been exceeded.
The auxiliary heater switches on if more
output is required than the heat pump can
provide. This can happen if the heat pump
is already close to reaching the limits of
use.
14.2.1 Setting the operating program

Select “Auxiliary heater”.

Select the preferred operating program.

Make the required settings.

Return to the main screen.

Standby There is no heat or DHW demand.
DHW The auxiliary heater is in DHW mode.

The heat demand is blocked by the out-
door temperature.
Fault There is a fault.
Frost protec-
tion mode
The auxiliary heater is in frost protection
mode.
Maximum
temperature
shutdown
The auxiliary heater is switched off be-
cause the flow temperature is too high.
Electricity tar-
iff shutdown
An electricity tariff shutdown of the heat
pump has taken place.
Operating
program
switched off
The auxiliary heater is switched off by
selecting the following operating pro-
gram: “Off”
Starting pro-
cedure
Operation of the auxiliary heater starts.
Shutdown
procedure
Operation of the auxiliary heater ends.
Minimum sys-
tem pressure
The system pressure fell below the
permissible minimum. If the system
pressure is too low, operability may be
restricted. Control the system pres-
sure and top up the heating water that
complies with the relevant standards if
required.
Output stage 1 The output of the internal electric aux-
iliary heater is controlled in 3 stages.
These are controlled via a binary signal
displayed here.
This parameter is only displayed if an
internal electric auxiliary heater is avail-
able.
