Maintenance and care
We recommend adjusting the pre-charge pressure in the
diaphragm expansion vessel (DEV) on the system accord-
ingly (system height).
We recommend monitoring the flow rate of the heat sink
system (WNA) and if necessary the heat source system
(WQA) using the flow meters specified by OCHSNER.
When non-routine work takes place that requires refilling
(e.g. system alteration or pipe breakage), we recommend
that an up to date water assessment be carried out and
the heat sink system be refilled on this basis.
Material damage
Abrasive tools must not be used to clean the evap-
orator fins in the outdoor unit.
»
Any dirt on the evaporator fins should be
blown away using compressed air (max. 8 bar,
min. 30 cm distance), in the direction of nor-
mal air flow.
»
If the fins are very dirty, contact your OCHS
-
NER system partner or OCHSNER Customer
Service.
»
If it is necessary to clean the casing sections of the
indoor or outdoor unit, use only a damp cloth (with
water or a weak soapy solution). Do not use any abra-
sive or aggressive cleaning materials.
»
Do not use a high pressure cleaner.
»
During the building phase, protect the indoor and out-
door units from dirt and dust with a suitable cover.
»
Ensure that the heating circuit is filled with suffi
-
cient heating water that complies with the relevant
standards.
»
Ensure that any condensation beneath the outdoor
unit can drain away without freezing all year round.
»
Ensure that no ice is formed, especially on paths and
entrances around the outdoor unit.
»
Ensure that the outdoor unit (both the top and the
underside) is kept free from snow, leaves/twigs and
other foreign bodies.
Note
If the outdoor unit is covered with a thick layer of
snow, this can reduce system efficiency.
»
Remove snow on and around the outdoor unit
as necessary.
6.2 Testing the safety valve
Note
The indoor unit has an internal safety valve (DHW,
heating).
»
Observe the national and regional regulations
regarding the required regular operational
tests.
»
Remove the left-hand appliance casing panel to gain
access to the internal safety valve.
»
To test, turn the red knob on the safety valve until wa-
ter emerges from the safety valve drain.
»
Ensure that the safety valve is closed again after the
test.

6.3 Installation in coastal areas
Material damage
Water and salt residues on the outdoor unit can
significantly accelerate the corrosion process.
»
Ensure that the condensate drains away cor-
rectly under the outdoor unit.
»
Ensure that rain water cannot collect under
the outdoor unit.
»
Regularly clean the outdoor unit to remove
salt residues.
»
Check the condition of the outdoor unit at
regular intervals and implement appropriate
anti-corrosion measures when needed. (every
three months)
»
During extended periods of downtime, ensure
that the outdoor unit is appropriately protect-
ed.
6.4 Maintenance contract
OCHSNER offers a wide range of maintenance contracts.
Benefits of a maintenance contract
►
The legal requirements (e.g. Regulation
(EU) No 517/2014) are fulfilled through the annual
inspection.
►
A correctly performed service not only helps to save
energy but also protects the environment.
