Autonomous Deployment Scenarios

Stand Alone

The icListen has an internal battery and memory which enables it to be deployed as a stand-

alone unit. It will record up to 8 hours of data at the maximum sampling rate (512 kSps | 200 kHz

bandwidth. An Ocean Sonics Battery Pack can extend a stand-alone deployment up to 3 months.

Deployment Notes

•

For best sound data, do not connect the surface float directly to the hydrophone, this

causes noise and movement from the surface to be recorded by the icListen.

•

Use a second weight and a surface float to decouple the noise from the surface. Increase

the length of the rope to add a second weight at least 1 meter from the first weight and

attach the surface float to the secondary weight.
