5.2 Checking the function

L
• The function display is lit when the UVC lamp is switched on.
• Bitron Premium 120 W / 180 W: The bright UVC light provides lighting for the function display. A
weakly lit function display indicates that the UVC clarifier is switched off. Recommended function
check:
– Only switch on one UVC clarifier at a time. Switch off adjacent UVC clarifiers.
6 Remedy of faults
Malfunction Cause Remedy
The unit performance is not satisfactory The water is extremely soiled. • Remove algae and leaves from the
pond.
• Clean the pond thoroughly.
• Change the water.
The quartz glass is soiled. Clean the quartz glass.
UVC lamp capacity is too low The lamp must be replaced after 8000
operating hours.
Excessive pond volume Add additional UVC clarifier
Flow rate too low or too high Adhere to the recommended flow rate
The UVC lamp is not lit Power plug is not plugged in Plug in the power plug
UVC lamp is defective Replace the UVC lamp
Connection is defective Check the electrical connection
UVC lamp has overheated
• The UVC lamp will automatically
switch on again once it has cooled
down
• If there is strong sunlight, position the
unit under a roof
• Increase the flow rate to prevent
increased heating in the water hous-
ing
7 Maintenance and cleaning

Electrical current may cause death or severe injuries.
• Disconnect the power plug before carrying out any work on the unit.
• Secure the unit to prevent unintentional switching on.
C A U T I O N
The quartz glass and UVC lamp could break and result in cuts.
• Be careful when carrying out all work on the UVC clarifier in order to avoid cuts.
•
Shocks, impacts and hectic movements should be avoided to prevent the breaking of glass.
N O T E
The unit may be damaged, if the water flow is suddenly interrupted downstream of the outlet
(e.g. by a slide valve). The sudden interruption can cause a temporary pressure increase of
over 1 bar (hydraulic shock).
• Switching off: First switch off the pump, then close the slide valve. If the unit is operated in
a filter system, first take the filter system out of operation.
• Switching on: First open the slide valve, then switch on the pump. If the unit is operated in a
filter system, start up the filter system last.
•
As an alternative, install the slide valve upstream of the inlet.
