Numark CDN77USB guide (using USB sticks)
This guide will take you through a couple of the functions and best practice in
using the Numark CDN77USB CD and MP3 player at FromeFM.
There have been a number of reports recently about the CD player acting up.
This is due to the amount of usage it gets and affects the left deck more than
the right as it gets more usage. It is likely that the left laser has become
defocused which is why it often works fine for professionally produced CDs
but not ones made at home. We will be replacing it soon but in the mean-time
we are keen to ensure that no presenter is struggling to play a track on air.
The most efficient, quick and simple way to play music on FromeFM is use to
MP3 files added to a USB stick. Using a USB stick means you don’t need to
keep opening and closing the tray to change CDs and you are able to use
both the left and the right deck from the same USB meaning you can do your
entire show from a single USB.
First things first, you will need to convert the songs for your playlist into MP3
files. It is crucial that the files are MP3 and not .M4A (iTunes), .WMA
(Windows Media) or any other format including .WAV .OGG .AAC etc.
