11. Alarm and Warning
— 11-8 —
11.3. Cause and Remedy
11.3.1. CPU Error
The CPU integrated into the Driver Unit controls various types of operation.
This alarm reports that the CPU is not properly functioning.
Table 11-8: Cause and remedy for CPU error alarm
Cause
Remedy
(1) The CPU is not functioning due to noise.
Restart the power
Take measures against noise.
(2) Defective Driver Unit
When it does not recover by the reset of power, the Driver Unit may be
defective. Replace it referring to “Appendix 5: Procedure for Replacing
Driver Unit Model EDD,” if necessary.
11.3.2. Alarm A0: Disconnected Sensor Cable
The PS/PN/PX series Motor integrates with two types of position sensor: absolute position sensor and
incremental position sensor. This alarm reports disconnection of the cable of these sensors.
The Driver Unit reports disconnection of the absolute sensor cable only when the control power
is turned on.
For the incremental position sensor, the alarm will be always made at an occurrence.
Table 11-9: Cause and remedy for the alarm A0
Cause
Remedy
(1) Resolver cable disconnected.
Check the resolver cable for proper connection.
(2)
Defective resolver cable
Visually check the cable for damage.
Replace the Motor or the resolver cable if necessary. Refer to “Appendix
2: How to Check Motor Condition”.
(3) Defective resolve winding
(4)
Defective Driver Unit
If it does not recover with above measures, the Driver Unit may be
defective. Replace it referring to “Appendix 5: Procedure for Replacing
Driver Unit Model EDD,” if necessary.
(1)
Refer to “2.6.3. Cable Set” for the bending radius of the resolver cable. Refer to “2.6.1. Megatorque
Motors” for the resolver cable that is integrated with the Motor.
A too far small bending radius may cause a break in the cable.
(2)
Do not fix the cable in the way that results in the force concentration on one area because it may cause a
cable break.
(3)
When tie wrap the cables, be careful not to tie them tightly. Otherwise it may break inside of the cables,
even the cable itself look normally.
(4)
When the cables are put in a cable carrier, the share of total cables shall be equal to or less than 50% of the
inside area of a cable carrier. Do not put too much cable in it. Otherwise damage on the cable coating may
occur and may lead to internal cable break. Fix the cable to the cable carrier at its entry and exit so that the
force to the connecters is minimal.
