Serial port mode

RS232

: Sets the serial interface to RS 232.

Data synchronisation may be done by hardware (RTS/CTS) or by software (XON/XOFF). Ma-
ximum cable length is 15 m.

•

RS422

: Sets the serial interface to RS 422.

RS 422 is a 4 wire point to point connection, suitable for only one device. Receiver and driver
of the printer are always enabled. Data synchronization is only possible by software (XON/
XOFF). Maximum cable length is 1 km with twisted telecommunication cable.

•

RS485

: Sets the serial interface to RS 485.

RS 485 is a 2 or 4 wire bus system for up to 30 devices. The printer´s receiver is always
enabled, the printer´s driver is only enabled, if the printer sends data to the host. Data synchro-
nization is only possible by software (XON/XOFF). Maximum cable length is 1 km with twisted
telecommunication cable.
