PCMCIA Expansion Module
The optional PCMCIA expansion module supports IP routing and provides a
connection to the Internet for the Passport 4460 unit. The Passport 4460 unit
supports type I, II, and type III PCMCIA modules.
The PCMCIA expansion module fits into the PCMCIA slot labeled PCMCIA
EXP. This provides a second 10/100BASE-T port on the unit. One PCMCIA
expansion module is supported per unit.
The PCMCIA slot, as shown below, is reserved for the PCMCIA expansion
module.
The crossover 10BASE-T LAN cable delivered with your module is intended to
be used for communication to the NIC card of a PC or workstation. It cannot be
used as a connection to a port on the 10/100 hub or switch.
Caution:
Once your system is operating, do not remove or insert the
PCMCIA expansion module. To do so could result in network
interruption.
Do not plug in the power cord until all modules and connectors have been
properly installed.
