ISDN BRI Adapter Modules (S/T and U Interface)

The ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) BRI (Basic Rate Interface) WAN 
modules are used as primary network link connections to the WAN, or for backup 
in case of a line failure. Both Port 2 and Port 3 can support the ISDN BRI WAN 
modules.

There are two ISDN BRI WAN adapter modules:

•

ISDN BRI (S/T Interface) Adapter Module

•

ISDN BRI (U Interface) Adapter Module

The ISDN BRI provides B-channels and D-channels: 

•

The D-channel carries control and signaling information between the user 
and the network at 16 kb/s. 

•

The two B-Channels carry data, voice, and other services at 64 kb/s.
