Changing Hardware Configurations
This chapter describes how Nortel Networks trained service personnel can
change existing hardware configurations, including:
• Installing LAN and WAN cards or adding memory
• Swapping out a power supply or hard disk drive
Warning:
Only Nortel Networks trained service personnel should change
existing hardware configurations. Improper handling of internal
components or assemblies, with the power connected, could cause
severe injury.
NOTE: Wear an antistaticband when handling electronic components
for the Switch to avoid damaging them.
Warning: Turn off the Switch and unplug both power cords before installing
LAN and WAN cards or system memory.
