Inspecting the chassis

Interior features This table describes the details shown in the preceding

Caution: Risk of equipment damage. Use an ESD strap to
protect static-sensitive components.
Warning: Risk of personal injury. Exercise caution in handling
the sharp edges of the side panels and chassis to prevent
personal injury.
Inspecting the
interior To remove the server chassis cover and inspect the interior,
follow these steps.

1. Cross bar used to secure memory board
2. DIMM memory board
3. Motherboard
4. CPU board
5. ELAN Network interface/adapter card
6. CLAN Network interface/adapter card
7. Cooling fan
Step Action
1 Remove the three screws securing the right side panel cover
(on the right as viewed from the back of the server) to the
rear of the chassis.
2 Remove the cover.
3 Clip the lead from your ESD wrist strap to an unpainted
section of the chassis or an exposed screw.
