Manual 31-46

Use the following procedures to check the resistance and continuity of
the gun and its components. Perform each of these checks on a weekly
basis in the order that they are listed.

Gun Resistance

See Figure 5-2.

1. Disconnect the gun cable from the spray gun.

2. Connect the shorting plug connector (1) to the gun cable

connector (2).

3. Connect the megohm meter (4) probes to the shorting plug ring tong

terminal and gun electrode (3). If the reading is infinite, reverse the
probes.

4. Check the megohm meter reading. Resistance should be between

150 and 220 M

Ω

at 500 Volts.

5. If the reading is not between 150 and 220 M

Ω

procedures in this section.
