4. Packing installation:

a. See Figure C 2-14. Install type U, F, or, L standard packings by

tightening the solvent cup (1)

turn to compress the upper

packings and form a seal against the plunger, then adjust to 0.125

in.

0.030 in. between the solvent cup and the upper housing (3).

Use tightening ports with a spanner wrench or pin to secure the

solvent cup.

b. Install Type D self

−

adjust and Type F self

−

adjust packings by

tightening the solvent cup all the way down until it bottoms out. Use

the tightening ports on the solvent cup with a spanner wrench or pin

to secure the solvent cup.

5. Install the coupling sleeve (18) over the connecting rod (17).
6. Pull the connecting rod (17) down to touch the plunger (4).
7. Finish installing the coupling as described in the

Coupling Removal and

Replacement

on page C 2-2.

Return To Service

Install the circulation kit, if used, and connect the siphon and high-pressure

fluid hoses. Connect the air supply hose to the air motor. Refer to

Section B3, Installation

, for connections and circulation valve installation.

Flush the pump with a compatible cleaning solution and resume production.
