Type F Self-Adjusting Packing Assemblies
Lubricate the new V-rings with O-ring lubricant. Assemble the packings as
shown in Figure C 2-7.

Type D Self-Adjusting Packing Assemblies
Lubricate the new V-rings with O-ring lubricant. Assemble the packings as
shown in Figure C 2-4.
NOTE: The stack height of Type D packing assemblies is critical. Shims
are used to obtain this stack height, so the number of shims for each
assembly can vary. Keep each assembly together when removing it from its
packaging and do not interchange components between assemblies.
