Loctite Product Application, Cleanup, And Storage
It is essential to follow the guidelines below when applying Loctite to
fasteners. Refer to www.loctiteproducts.com for additional technical
information.
Blind and Thru Holes
Ensure the work area is clean.
Parts to be sealed must be clean and free of moisture.
Shake product thoroughly prior to application.
Fastener secured with nut − apply several drops of Loctite 242/248 onto
the fastener where it engages with the nut.
Fastener threaded into blind hole − apply several drops of Loctite
242/248 into the blind hole. Loctit

42/248 should be allowed to run
down the internal threads until it reaches the bottom of the blind hole.
Product sets in approximately 10 minutes and cures in 24 hours.
Sealing Applications
Ensure the work area is clean.
Parts to be sealed must be clean and free of moisture.
Shake product thoroughly prior to application.
Apply a continuous bead of Loctite 5 77 completely around the threads
of male fittings.
CAUTION: Do not apply product to the first thread of male fitting.
Apply continuous bead of Loctit
e 5
77 completely around the threads of
female fittings.
Force Loctit e 5 77 into the voids located between fastener threads.
Product sets in approximately 10 minutes and cures in 24 hours.
Cleanup
Remove any product applied in excess with a damp cloth.
To remove cured product soak fastener with methylene chloride or utilize
an abrasive brush, or equivalent tool.
