ScioBot 2.0 Quick Start Guide

1

Slide the battery mount about halfway
onto the first wooden stick by inserting
the wooden stick through the slots on
the battery mount.

2

Insert the T-Connector 2.0 onto the
second wooden stick. Use the slot that
goes through the entire T-Connector so
that you can slide the T-Connector half
way onto the wooden stick.

3

Connect the two pieces using the
remaining available slot on the T-
Connector.

4

Insert the motors into the motor
mounts. They will slide in and fit snugly.
Some slight forcemay be required.
Warning! Be careful not to push on the
motor lead connections as they could
be damaged!

5

Attach the wheels to the motor shafts. The motor shaft has a

D shape. If you look at the hole in the center of the wheels

you will see the same D shape. Align the flat part of the D on

the motor with the flat part on the wheel and press the shaft

into the wheel. Do this for both motors.

Wrap a rubber

band around

each wheel.  The

rubber bands

help give the

ScioBot traction

on smoother

surfaces, and

protect the

wheels from

wear.

6

Use the slots in the motor mounts to attach the wheel
assemblies to the main chassis. It does not matter if the
motors are oriented on top of the wooden stick or
underneath. Just make sure they are both the same,
otherwise you will find that your ScioBot is lopsided!

7

Press the 9V Battery holder into its bracket. Connect
the microcontroller and motor controller to the
breadboard and snap the breadboard into its bracket.
