LOCATION TAG
The machine uses a Location Tag
(44)
to identify its specific position within the building see
Figure 2-2.
1 The location tag should be mounted permanently on a wall or fixed flat object.
2 Machine needs an unobstructed view of the tag.
3 Place the tag in an area where there is a static environment*.
4 Tag needs to be in a well-lit area for machine to scan.
5 Mount the tag at a maximum height of 4’ (1.2 m)**.
6 The top edge of the tag must be level with the floor.
7 A unique tag is required for each floor of a building.
8 Have a location tag no more than 65’ (20m) from the plan start for best results.
9 Dividing up very large areas and using more than one tag can improve performance.
10 Do not place one tag within view of another tag.***
When scanning a location tag, park machine so that it is;
1 Perpendicular to the wall to properly read the tag.
2 A distance of about 3’ (1m) away from the tag.
*The location tag should be placed in an area where there are not movable objects (i.e. garbage cans or other equipment). The machine records
information when setting the location tag position, if there are new obstacles each time within the vicinity of the location tag, the recorded plan will
shift.
** The machine’s 3-D vision sensor cannot see much above the height of the steering wheel. Placing the tag so the top edge is 4’ (1.2m) or less
off the floor will ensure the tag is visible to the 3-D vision sensor.
***
If using more than one tag in a large area, do not place them so close together that two could be seen by the 3-D vision sensor at the same
time. Scanning errors may occur.
IMPORTANT!
Prior to recording any plans the location tag has to be installed and identified by the machine.
