you want to use is chosen by clicking the arrow next to the Live image button and selecting
the required profile from those displayed.
A Supervisor can create standard imaging profiles. To create or change a profile, click
Options to open the C.Clear Options dialog box. Profiles specify the number of seconds to
average an image, and whether image enhancement, noise reduction, smoothing and/or
sharpening and auto-tone are applied. Refer to the Inspect-X
Online Help or User Manuals
for more information.
5.4.6 Position the sample for inspection
You can now move your sample into the path of the X-ray beam with the manipulator to
inspect in real time. Control the manipulator using:

The joysticks on the inspection system.
•
The Axes controls and readouts in the Position panel on the Position and Optimise
tab.
•
Saved manipulator position sets.
•
The manipulator map on some systems.
•
Interactions with the live image window.
If you are at high magnification, you can find out where you are on your sample by
decreasing magnification.
Using the manipulator, locate your region of interest and zoom in to inspect.
5.4.7 Optimise the image
Generally, the highest contrast in an image is obtained by the lowest X-ray energy (lowest
kV) that produces the desired sample penetration:

If you are unable to see detail in your sample, increase the X-ray energy (kV).
