SM-Applications Modules & Motion Processors User Guide
Issue Number: 4
to POS0 and POS1, but be aware that the timing
is
different and code may have to
be altered to take this into account. Note also that the timing does not alter
depending on drive switching frequency, as it did on UD70.
•
Three new EVENT tasks have been added, but this should not cause any problems
migrating programs.
•
EVENT tasks can now be scheduled from DPL using the new SCHEDULEEVENT
function block.
12.3.4 User Defined Function Blocks
•
The UD70 had a limit of 10 integer inputs and 10 integer output. There were also
alignment restrictions. The SM-Applications Modules & Motion Processors has
none of the restrictions. Number of inputs and outputs are limited only by memory.
There should be no migration problems.
12.3.5 Communications
CTNet
See Features section on pages 8, 9 & 10 for availability of CTNet on your module.
•
CTNet communications is now standard and no longer an option. All configuration
parameters have changed. Sync generation is slightly different in that it is now in
true milliseconds rather than the closest multiple of 1.38 ms as UD70. Also EVENT
task triggering will also occur on the master node as well as slave nodes - UD70
didn’t do this.
•
All set-up parameters have moved from menu 20 to the option menu (15/16/17/81).
•
The special diagnostic variables such as NOFMESSAGES are no longer supported.
Instead a new function block CTNETDIAGS returns the diagnostic information. Old
programs using these diagnostic variables will not compile and will have to be
changed to use the new function block.
•
The EVENT task triggering on SYNC message now also occurs on the node that is
actually generating the SYNC message as well as slave nodes.
EIA-RS485 Port
See Features section on pages 8, 9 & 10 for availability of the EIA-RS485 port on
your module.
•
CT-ANSI enhanced to now support full 32-bit read/write.
•
IO box mode 10 is no longer supported.
•
Drive to drive and cascade modes 2,3 and 4 are not supported.
•
RS232 drive to drive mode is not supported.
•
Mode 9 is not supported due to hardware limitations.
•
Modes 11-12 are not supported. Mode 11 which bypassed the UD70’s software
buffers is no longer required since software buffers will not be used for user modes.
•
New Modbus-RTU master modes and associated commands are now available.
12.4
Second Processor Porting aid
12.4.1 Overview
SyPTPro includes a Porting aid which will warn users of any features that are different
on the SM-Applications Modules & Motion Processors compared with the UD7X
modules. The warnings will be displayed by SyPTPro in an error window. This error
window will include the line number that the error/porting information is related to, so by
