6.2 When Fault Symptoms are Observed
If you found a malfunction, try the following actions. If the problem persists, contact NF
Corporation or one of our representatives.

Power supply
cannot be turned on
The power supply used is
not in conformance with
the specified ratings
Use a power supply in conformance
with the specified ratings. Firmly
insert the power cord.
Self calibration
error
The operation is not
normal due to external
noise, etc.
Power off and then on. Relocate the
device to a better environment.
Panel operation
does not work
The device is in the
remote control state.
Press the BS/LOCAL key to reset the
device to the LOCAL control state.
Keys have been
deteriorated
Contact NF Corporation or one of our
representatives for repair.
Impossible to set Setting memory is
protected (Lock)
Clear protection (select “ Free ” ) on the
menu screen.
AC amplitude is
wrong
The ON AC/DC key is not
pressed
Press the OSCILLATOR ON AC/DC
key. Setting the value only will not
modify the output.
The units selected (Vrms
or Vpeak) are incorrect.
Select Vrms and Vpeak correctly using
the “ +/
-
pk/rms ” keys.
The load impedance is
low; the signal voltage is
divided between the 50
Ω
output impedance and the
load (impedance).
Increase the voltage according to the
load impedance.
The measured
values vary largely.
The oscillator is off Press the OSCILLATOR ON AC/DC
key. Setting the value only will not
modify the output.
The drive signal level is
smaller than the set value
Noise is too big or the
signal is too small
Raise the AC amplitude or lengthen the
integration time.
The connecting cable to
the oscillator is damaged
Check the signal wave on an
oscilloscope or the voltage monitor
display in the spot measurement
screen.
The measured value
is wrong
(different from the
estimate)
Data memory display is
set to A/B, or to B
Change the data memory display to A
via the menu screen. The latest
measurement data is stored in the data
memory A.
The measurement mode
selected (CH2/OSC or
CH2/CH1) is incorrect.
Select the reference from either of OSC
or CH1 connector input depending on
the actual connection.
The connecting cables to
CH1 and CH2 are
damaged.
Check the signal wave on an
oscilloscope or the voltage monitor
display in the spot measurement
screen.
The device does not
operate as described
in the Instruction
Manual
Total initialization of the
settings has not been
executed
Most of the descriptions contained in
this manual presuppose that the
settings have already been initialized.
Perform total initialization.
Remote control does
not work
GPIB/USB selection is
invalid.
Select either of GPIB or USB via the
system menu screen.
