3.4 Flow rate detector
STERILOR Duo is equipped with a blade flow
detector. It detects the loss of flow before the
electrolysis cell and stops the production (and
therefore the electrolysis).
It is therefore an additional safety device that
must be installed as close to the electrolysis cell as
possible and on the cell's water inlet. No valves,
check valves or other separation elements must be
inserted between these two devices.
This detector is equipped with a blade installed
perpendicular to the water flow. When the flow
rate is sufficient it pushes the blade, therefore low
flow is no longer detected. When the flow reduces
too much or is stopped, the blade goes back to its
initial position and the loss of flow is detected.
The sensor only works in one direction, so it is
important to respect the arrow indicating the
sensor's direction of flow. For correct position of
the blade, the arrow must be parallel to the piping
and respect the pool water's direction of flow.
It can be assembled on a horizontal or
vertical pipe. Vertically, the flow rate must be as
high as possible to deactivate the loss of flow
information.
Be careful, to allow the movement of the
blade, a 24 mm diameter hole must be made in the
tube before positioning the saddle tee. To ensure
the watertightness of the saddle tee, mark out the
position of the saddle tee on the tube before
installation to ensure that it is centred on the hole
produced.
