The 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 shade slats are designed to be installed with

9” spacing between each slat.

Shade slats are designed to extend approximately 14 1/4” past

the last rafter. Measurement includes the pre-installed pergola

ends. Your goal is to ensure that all the shade slats overhang

equally to the eye.

Install first shade slat center of the vinyl columns

Fasten with 2 1/2“ screws (one at each intersection of rafter

and shade slat).

Install the second shade slat at 9” spacing and fasten with 6 more

2 1/2“ screws. Repeat for all 12 shade slats

Shade Slats Installation

STEP EIGHT

10 x 10 Flat Top Two Tone Pergola

Apply a small amount of vinyl glue to the inside of the shade slat

decorative end cap and attach to one end of the shade slat as shown.

Assemble shade slats by inserting the two slats into one joiner.

Push firmly until extrusion bottoms out inside joiner. No screws

are necessary.
