Port settings commands

This section provides reference information for port settings commands.

show port

Use the

show port

command to display a port's properties, including its speed, lock status, autolock status, and physical

type. Other information is returned depending on the port type.

The following information is returned for copper ports:
• Speed—Configured speed and actual speed.
• Duplex—Configured duplex mode and actual duplex mode.
• MDI—Configured MDI and actual MDI/MDI-X mode.
• Mastery—Configured port mastery and actual port mastery.
• Autoneg—Port auto negotiation setting, either auto (port will auto-negotiate speed and duplex with link partner), or

manual (speed and duplex are set according to user preferences).

• TAP—Configured failsafe mode, either off, LFP (Link Failsure Propagation), or LMP (Link Mode Propagation).
• Autolock—Configured port locking option when link-down is detected, either off (port does not lock on link-down), or

on (port locks on link-down).

• Lock—Current lock/unlocked state, either off (port is open for traffic) or on (port is closed for traffic in or out).
• Description—Shown if a port name/description has been entered.
• Usage—Configured port usage, either unknown, network, or tool. This setting has no bearing on actual port

performance.

• Port type—For copper ports this will be "Registered Jack 45 (RJ45)".
• PORT UP/DOWN—Current link-up/link-down status of the port.
• Traffic threshold low—Configured percentage low traffic threshold.
• Traffic threshold high—Configured percentage high traffic threshold.
The following information is returned for SFP ports:
• Port type
• Vendor
• Serial number
For optical SFP ports, the following additional information is available:
• TX/RX power
• Laser bias current
• V

CC

• Temperature
