Before supplying power to the NetScreen-10/100, follow these safety guidelines:

• Look carefully for possible hazards in the work area, such as moist floors,

ungrounded power extension cables, and missing safety grounds.

• Locate the emergency power-off switch for the area where you are working.

Do not perform any action that creates a potential hazard to people or makes the
equipment unsafe. To allow adequate air circulation and to avoid the devices
tipping over, do not stack or balance the equipment on other devices. Make sure
the installation is securely in place.

Caution

Read the cabling instructions before connecting the NetScreen-10/100 to its
power source.

Warning

Before working on a device that has an On/Off switch, turn OFF the power and
unplug the power cord.

Warning

The NetScreen-10/100 contains no user-serviceable parts and is housed in a
tamper-proof enclosure. Therefore, the chassis should never be opened under any
circumstances. Doing so will also void the warranty.
