Connecting the Gateway to the Internet

v1.0, August 2009

Configuring the Basic Settings

When you log in to the gateway the Basic Settings screen displays:

Make sure that the Cable Network Settings are correct based on the information from your
Internet Service Provider (ISP).

By default, the

Dynamic IP

radio button is selected, which enables the gateway to

automatically download the network configuration from your ISP. Select the

Static IP

radio

button only if your ISP has assigned you a permanent, fixed (static) IP address. If you select

Static IP

, the screen changes as shown in the following figure:
