Residual heat indicator
The hob has a residual heat indicator for each hotplate to show
those which are still hot. Avoid touching a hotplate that displays
this.
Even when switched off, the

indicators and the selected power level will appear alternately.
Twistpad and twist knob
The twistpad is the area in which you can use the twist knob to
select the hotplates and set heat settings. The twist knob
automatically centres itself in the twistpad area.
The twist knob is magnetic and is placed on the twistpad.
Tapping the twist knob where there is a marking activates the
relevant hotplate. Turning the twist knob sets the heat setting.
After positioning the twist knob, it may not be centred correctly
on the twistpad. The twist knob can be centred again by
moving it gently.
Note:
The alignment does not affect the function of the twist
knob.
Removing the Tipp control
When the Tipp control is removed, the cleaning lock function is
activated.
The Tipp control can be removed when the hotplates are on.
The cleaning lock function is activated for 35 seconds. If after
the time has elapsed, the Tipp control is not returned to its
position, the cooker switches off.
:
Risk of fire!
If a metal object is placed on the Tipp-Pad zone during these
35 seconds, the hob may continue to heat. Therefore, always
turn off the hob using the main switch.
Storing the twist knob
A strong magnet is located inside of the twist knob. Keep the
twist knob away from magnetic data carriers, such as video
cassettes, diskettes, credit cards and cards with magnetic
strips. Otherwise, these data carriers may be damaged beyond
repair.
The twist knob can also cause interference in television sets
and monitors.
Note:
The twist knob is magnetic. Metal particles which stick to
the underside can scratch the hob. Always wipe the twist knob
thoroughly.
Emergency mode
The hob can also operate without the Tipp control:
1.
Switch on the hob using the main switch.
2.
Within the following 5 seconds, press the

symbols
simultaneously. A signal sounds.

Switching the hotplate on and off
The range is turned on and off using the main switch.
To turn on: press the

■
The settings are memorised for 4 seconds after the range
