Airflow Indicator 24V
EN
4 Installation
AFI 24V needs to be placed indoors in a vertical posi-
tion.
4.1 High vacuum system
Recommended installation example for model AFI 24V
3000-15000 Pa:
• Close to the shut-off valve. See
4.2 Low vacuum system
Recommended installation examples:
• Model AFI 24V 40-600 Pa: Over the local adjustment
damper (recommended). See
• Model AFI 24V 40-600 Pa and AFI 24V 500-4500
Pa: In the swivel. See
• Model AFI 24V 40-600 Pa and AFI 24V 500-4500
(C).
NOTE!
If AFI 24V is placed in the swivel or in the hood,
make sure that there is a damper between the
fan and AFI 24V. This is to secure that the calib-
ration is done correctly.
5 Calibration
Calibrate AFI 24V directly after installation and when
the operating conditions change.
NOTE!
• AFI 24V needs to be fixed before calibration.
• Model AFI 24V 40-600 Pa: If possible, meth-
od 1 shall be used.
5.1 Method 1: Over the local adjustment
damper
(Measure of differential pressure)
NOTE!
• Model AFI 24V 40-600 Pa only.
• Reduce the air flow with any damper (except
the local adjustment damper).
Calibrate AFI 24V in the following way:
1
Measure the air flow (using for example a dP-calc).
2
Regulate the air flow so that the air flow reaches
the limit according to local restrictions and/or in-
formation regarding minimum flow if available.
3
Rotate the blue knob on AFI 24V until the LED
turns green. This sets the lower switching point
of AFI 24V. If the airflow decreases the LED starts
blinking yellow.
4
Redo the process to make sure the calibration is
done correctly.
5.2 Method 2: Shut-off valve, swivel or
in the hood
(Measure of static pressure)
NOTE!
Spark protection in the hood must not be used
during calibration or measuring.
Calibrate the AFI 24V in the following way:
1
Measure the air flow using for example a dP-calc.
2
Regulate the central adjustment damper so that
the air pressure reaches the limit according to the
local restrictions and/or information regarding
minimum flow if available. See
(D).
3
Rotate the blue knob on AFI 24V until the LED
turns green. This sets the lower switching point
of AFI 24V. If the airflow decreases the LED starts
blinking yellow.
4
Redo the process to make sure the calibration is
done correctly.
6 Maintenance
If the light turns yellow, make sure that the hose is
not damaged, clogged or folded.
If the light is off, make sure that the power supply is
working properly.
