Answering Calls
This section explains how to answer calls using the
Answer key.
Answer an External Call
(1) The Answer key and Line key lamps flash red (the
ITK-8TCGX telephone Line key flashes green).
(2) Press the Answer key.
The Call Indicator lamp goes off.
The Answer key lamp goes off.
The Speaker key lamp lights red.
The Line key lamp lights green.
(3) Lift the handset to answer the call.
Answer an Internal Call
The following procedure explains how to answer an
internal call routed to the telephone.
(1) When you hear the ringing tone, the Call Indicator
lamp flashes red, the Answer key and Line key
lamps light green.
(2) Press the Answer key.
The Call Indicator lamp goes off.
The Answer key lamp goes off.
The Speaker key lamp lights red.
(3) Lift the handset to answer the call.
Holding a Call (using Call Hold)
You can use this feature to put a call, which is in
progress, on hold using the call Hold key. The line can
then be used to originate another call or return to the
previously held call.
Put a Call on Hold
This procedure explains how to put a call, which is in
progress, on hold.
(1) While a call is in progress, the Line key that is
used during the call lights green. The Line key on
other telephones lights red.
(2) Press the Hold key.
The caller on hold hears Music on Hold.
The Line key, which is on hold, flashes green.
The Line key on other telephones flashes red.
(3) Replace the handset or make a new call.
Retrieve the Call on Hold
This procedure explains how to retrieve a call that was
previously put on hold.
(1) While the call is holding, the Line key that is used
to place the caller on hold flashes green.
(2) Press the Line key that is on holding.
The Line key lamp lights green.
(3) Lift the handset and return to the call on hold.
It is possible to answer a call by pressing the
Line key that is flashing instead of using the
Answer key.
It is possible to answer a call by lifting the
handset, then pressing the Answer key or Line
key.
It is possible to retrieve the call on hold from
another telephone that has the same Line key
flashing red.
