Troubleshooting Checklist
If the Built-in LTO fails to operate as expected, consult the following checklist and verify the
Built-in LTO before returning it for repairs. If the Built-in LTO is exhibiting any of the
symptoms listed, take the actions indicated.

Make sure that the DC power cable is correctly
connected to the Built-in LTO.

The power of the Built-in LTO
cannot be turned on.
The LED does not light.
Make sure that the AC cord is correctly plugged into
the power outlet by removing the plug from the outlet
and inserting it again.
Make sure that the SAS cable is correctly connected to
the server and the Built-in LTO.

The drive (LTO) is not properly
detected.
Make sure that the cable is correctly connected to the
interface (MB connectors).
Make sure that proper cable assignment is done on
the system composition.

The cartridge is not detected
correctly.
Make sure that the backup software is set correctly.
Replace the cartridge with a new one.

The backup process is not
performed correctly. (Backup
software recognizes the drive
correctly)
Make sure that the write protect plug on the cartridge
is not set to prohibit data writing.
Make sure that proper data cartridge is used.
-> Make sure that combination of drive and data
cartridge is proper. For example, LTO4 data cartridge
is used on LTO2 drive, and so on.
-> Make sure that data cartridge confirmed
compatibility is used.
-> Make sure that it does not use data cartridge which
is previously occurred errors.
It may be problem of cable/connector connection
incorrect.
Make sure that the backup software is set correctly.
In case of bringing the drive which is stored in different
environment; temperature or humidity, it may not be
accustomed to the new environment. After
accustoming to the office environment is performed,
use the drive.
In case of performing backup job just at system started
in the inadequate air conditioning environment, the
drive may not have been accustomed to the
environment. Change the backup job process in order
to be accustomed to the environment adequately.
Replace the cartridge with a new one.
