Using the Call Announcing Option
With Call Announcing, the NVM-Series Automated Attendant can let
you know who is calling before putting the person through to your
Subscriber extension. You can accept the call or send it back to the
Automated Attendant if you are too busy to take the call.
It works like this:
■
The Automated Attendant asks the caller to record their name, then
the Automated Attendant calls you.
■
When you answer and say "Hello," you will hear this:
●
Hello. I have a call for (extension XXX or your name) from (the
caller's recorded name). To accept this call, press 1. Otherwise,
hang up.
■
If you press 1, the Automated Attendant says, Connecting, then
connects you to the caller. If you hang up, the Automated Attendant
says this to the caller:
●
Extension XXX is unavailable. To leave a message, press 1. For
other options, press 2.
■
The caller can press 1 to leave you message or press 2 to return to
the Automated Attendant.
In the ONYX/DS01 phone systems, the Auto Attendant can announce
a call while you are already on a call. NVM-Series breaks into your
call and says:
●
Hello, I have a call for (extension XXX or your name) from (the
caller’s recorded name).
To pick up the waiting call, you put your current call on Hold and
answer the flashing line. One thing to note: You will not hear the
announcement if your extension is Handsfree of if you are in the
process of dialing a call. NVM-Series can, however, be programmed
to send Call Waiting beeps to your extension in these cases.
