In the
Statistics
list, select the standard partial discharge level
calculation of choice (Qm or Qpeak recommended).
In the
Trend Overview
graph, adjust the red cursors to select a time
frame of interest.
In the
AE Trend
graph or
PD Trend
graph, move the cursor to each
acquisition, a PrPD preview will be displayed on the right side graph.
Select the channel (AE1, AE2, AE3, AE4 or PD) to display.
Observe the graphs in order to determine a trend and therefore
determine when (day and hour) would be the ideal time to perform a
standard PD localization.
If no predictive trend can be found, compare trend results with other
factors such as transformer voltage, load, tap position, temperature,
dew point, etc...
Auto-Loc
The Auto-Loc feature automates the main operations in order to locate partial
discharges in a transformer tank. This process is also quicker as less data is
transferred to the computer. However, the operator must be aware that the
Auto-Loc feature is designed to avoid any false positives. In some cases, the
algorithms will not locate any partial discharge where in fact, it could be
present, but weak. Auto-Loc can possibly be used at first try, but followed by a
standard inspection if it fails to localize.
Installation
The installation process is identical as standard operation. Follow all steps from
the
Installation
section of this manual.
Set a trigger window
Proceed with a manual PrPD acquisition in order to determine the trigger
window to use. Refer to
PrPD acquisition
section of this manual.
Operation
Click the
AE-150 Control > Controls
tab.
Click the
Auto-Loc
tab.
Click the
Start Auto-Loc
button.
