Standard Operating Modes
The tracking mode controls the allocation of the receiver's tracking channels and the method used
for computing position fixes.
Navigation mode
Navigation mode (set on default) is the usual (normal) mode of navigation equipment behavior. The
NAVIOR–24S executes the navigation task solution in this mode. This solution includes
spatiotemporal positioning determination of consumer and time.
Fixed position mode
Fixed position mode is in use in stall position when antenna placement location coordinates are
known accurate within 5 m. In this mode an antenna coordinates must be specified and the
NAVIOR-24S must be transferred in fixed position mode. It is the most exact mode as only time
determination with taking a known position into account executes in the navigation task.
Switching to the one of these modes executes by operator command ($PASET message of NMEA
protocol) See Appendix C for details.
Averaging mode
Averaging mode is intended for use in stall position when antenna placement location coordinates
are known. In this mode NAVIOR–24S executes the position static estimation. After 20 minutes of
working (after power up) switching to intermediate mode occurs. In this mode 9 of 10 solutions
executes on time with average coordinates only and every 10th solution is in use to exact coordinate
estimation. After 24 hours of working (time of working may be set by operator in the range from 20
minutes to 24 hours (24 hours set on default) the received coordinate estimations are fixed and
NAVIOR-24S turns to fixed position mode.
Switching to the one of these modes executes by operator command ($PASET message of NMEA
protocol) See Appendix C for details.
Note
– The action period in average mode is listed for receiving condition of valid solutions. If for
any reason these solutions are not received the action period in average mode amplifies.
