Section 6: Control and monitoring
This section describes control and monitoring of the XR12 transmitter. This section includes the
following topics:
• Controls
• Alarms
• Remote performance monitoring - see page 6-8
Controls
The XR12’s graphic user interface (GUI) lets you control a number of transmitter functions and set
parameters and schedules. (For detailed information about the GUI, refer to the
XR12 Operating and
Maintenance Manual , XR12-OPS-MAINT.) In addition, you can control the on/off status, the active
(A/B) exciter, the preset RF power level, the power level adjustment, and system alarm reset
remotely.
Alarms
The XR12 provides the following alarms through its GUI:
Fan P/S Fault.
The power supply used for the fans is no longer in the voltage range +48 V +/- 10%.
High B+ Voltage.
The B+ voltage has risen above +380 V. This is caused by high ac mains voltage.
Low B+ Voltage.
The B+ voltage has fallen below the alarm threshold, triggering an alarm and
shutback. The softstart relays open and the fan and RF drive power supplies turn off. This alarm
recovers automatically when the B+ voltage rises above 265 V. This is usually caused by low ac mains
voltage.
LVPS Fault.
One or more of the +24 V, +15 V, -15 V and +5 V power supplies have exceeded their
+/- 10% tolerance. One or more faults will generate only one LVPS Fault message on the Status
page, but each fault will be logged separately in the Events log.
RF Drive P/S Fault.
The +62V power supply used for the RF drive is no longer in the voltage range
+62 V +/- 10%.
