12.2. Using the External Battery Pack with the Trex HD Monitoring
System
The Trex HD Monitoring external battery pack is connected to the Trex HD Monitoring via the mini-USB
input. When the external battery pack is providing power to the Trex HD Monitoring, the green external
power LED light remains on.
To use the external battery pack:
1.
Insert two brand new AA batteries into the Trex HD Monitoring.
2.
Start an EEG or PSG study.
3.
Initiate an ambulatory recording through the software or by disconnecting the Trex HD
Monitoring from the acquisition computer.
4.
Connect a fully charged battery pack to the Trex HD Monitoring using the Trex HD Monitoring
cable provided.
5.
Place the battery pack securely in the Trex HD Monitoring pouch with the headbox. Keep the
battery pack connected for the duration of the study.
NOTE:
To preserve battery life, the LED status lights are designed to turn off while powering
the Trex HD Monitoring and during storage. The indicators may be reactivated by pressing
the Refresh Push Button.
NOTE:
The external battery pack consumes a small charge while idle or in storage
.
It is
recommended that the battery pack be used within 24 hours after it is charged to full
capacity. A longer storage or idle time may reduce the battery life during operation.
