11. Guaranteeing Sufficient Battery Power
11.1. Battery Power with AA Batteries (only)
The Trex HD Monitoring is powered by two AA alkaline batteries for ambulatory recordings. An optional
external battery pack is available to extend recording time without the need to replace batteries. For more

In order to guarantee
•
Sufficient battery power for 24 hours of consecutive ambulatory recording, and
•
Sufficient on-board storage for a 96-hour recording
Then:
a. All DC channels, differential channels 2 to 4, pulse rate (PR) and oxygen saturation (OSAT) must
b. Sampling frequency must be set to
200 H
z;
c. Wireless monitoring is not used, and
d.
Two new AA batteries must be inserted.
This will ensure that your ambulatory amplifier has enough onboard memory and battery power to record
for the duration of the study. It is recommended that batteries be replaced every 24 hours with a set of
new AA batteries.
NOTES:
It is strongly recommended that you use
major brand name AA alkaline
batteries
such as Duracell® Coppertop®, Duracell Procell®, Panasonic or equivalent.
Do not use rechargeable batteries.
With a Pulse Oximeter sensor connected to it, the Trex HD Monitoring can run for 17
hours with a set of new AA batteries recording to internal memory.
NOTES:
When the
settings described in this section
are applied, it is recommended
that patients be advised to replace the internal batteries according to a fixed schedule:
•
Standard ambulatory EEG studies:
Every 24 hours (at the same time once a
day)
•
PSG studies with pulse oximeter sensor connected:
Every 12 hours (twice
a day - once in the morning and again at night)
