Installing and Configuring the SCXI-1530/1531

The following instructions describe how to install the software for your
SCXI-1530/1531:

1.

Install your ADE if you have not already done so. National Instruments
ADEs have release notes containing software installation instructions.

2.

Install the NI-DAQ software provided with your DAQ device. NI-DAQ
version 6.7 or higher is required to configure and program your
SCXI-1530/1531 module. If you do not have NI-DAQ version 6.7 or
higher, you can either contact a National Instruments sales
representative or download the latest NI-DAQ version from the
National Instruments Web site,

Installing the SCXI-1530/1531

This section describes how to unpack and install your SCXI-1530/1531 for
use with an SCXI chassis and National Instruments DAQ device.

Unpacking

Your SCXI-1530/1531 module is shipped in an antistatic package to
prevent electrostatic damage to the module. Electrostatic discharge can
damage several components in the module. To avoid damaging the module,
take the following precautions:

•

Ground yourself by using a grounding strap or by holding a grounded
object.

•

Touch the antistatic package to a metal part of your SCXI chassis
before removing the module from the package.

•

Remove the module from the package and inspect the module for loose
components or any other sign of damage. Notify National Instruments
if the module appears damaged in any way. Do not install a damaged
module into your SCXI chassis.

•

Never touch the exposed pins of connectors.

Installing the SCXI-1530/1531 Module into the SCXI Chassis

You need the following items to complete the installation:

•

SCXI-1530/1531 module(s)

•

SCXI chassis or PXI combination chassis

•

1/4 in. flathead screwdriver
