such position that the rear fixed shoe (7) comes in contact with the
surface, shift the pressure from the front adjustable shoe (6) to the
rear fixed shoe (7). Keep pressure on the rear fixed shoe (7) until the
whole surface of the workpiece has been planed.
Planing depth may be adjusted lower than 0; in such case the plane
of the front adjustable shoe (6) gets projects below the cutting
circle of the cutting head (13), i.e. the blades come out of contact
with the surface.
Chamfering of workpiece edges (Fig. 3)
To allow chamfering of the workpiece edges, the front adjustable
shoe (6) is equipped with the rectangular V-groove (12). This V-groove is
2 mm deep, therefore with planing depth adjusted to 0, the planer will
chamfer the edge by 2 mm.
Planing wood in the stationary
position (Fig. 9)
As an optional accessory to the hand-held planer, the stationary sup-
port SS-EDH 82 may be delivered to extend the application range of the
planer by the function of a table planer, with the the hand-held planer
fixed in the support in inverted position.
Installation of the hand-held planer into the
stationary support
Check if the support frame (31) has the rubber plugs (32) inserted
in their openings (32). These rubber plugs prevent the stationary
support frame from moving on the workbench during work.
Install the tilting guard (43) according to illustration. Insert the
longer shank of the torsion spring (42) into the small square hole
of of the tilting guard (43) and screw the guard attached with the
spring to the support frame (31) according to Fig. 7 (the torsion
spring is inserted freely without pretensioning). Subsequently, turn
the tilting guard in the arrow direction to the operating position,
according to the illustration, and tighten the fixing screw (44).
The tilting guard must always move freely without friction and
the torsion spring must retract it automatically into its initial
position, where the safety function is provided – guarding the
cutting head with blades. The tilting guard must be mounted
under any conditions before starting of work with the station-
ary electric planer.
Fix the electric planer EDH 82 to the stationary support using 3 fix-
ing screws (Fig. 33 to Fig. 8).
Use the rabbeting depth guide (36) and the spacer (37) to establish
the clearance between the planer and the support frame swhen fix-
ing with the screw (33).
Tighten the screws (34) and (35) with the wing nuts (38) and wash-
ers (39).
Check the fixing of the yoke (40) with the screws (41).
Further advices
- For working safety, the steel profile of the support frame shall be
fixed to the workbench using screws or screw clamps. The square
holes in the steel profile allow the use of screws or bolts.
- In case of using the dust collection bag (21) or the extraction adapter
for connection of dust-extraction systems, it is advantageous to fit
these parts before putting the planer into the stationary support.
- For continuous operation of the planer, use the locking strap with
chain (45), pulled over the switch actuator of the electric planer (10).
Running of the planer is stopped by pulling the locking strap (45)
down from the switch actuator.
Maintenance
The hand-held planer requires practically no maintenance. Lubrication
for the antifriction bearings is designed to last for the service life of the
electric tool. It is advisable to clean the air inlet and outlet openings and
the dust extraction and chip discharge channel occasionally with com-
pressed air while the planer is running and no load. This will prevent the
openings from becoming clogged with dust or chips.
The carbon brushes are specially designed to allow their wear only to he
minimum usable length. Then the power supply circuit is automatically
interrupted and the electric tool stops running.The motor housing may
only be opened in the authorized workshops, as the assembly requires
special qualifications and knowledge.
Storage
Packed appliance may be stored in dry, unheated storage place with
temperature not lower than –5°C.
Unpacked appliance should be stored only in dry storage place with
temperature not lower than +5°C with exclusion of all sudden tempera-
ture changes.
Environmental protection
Power tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted for
environmental-friendly recycling.
Only for EU countries:
Do not dispose of power tools into household waste!
According to the European Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electrical and
electronic equipment and its incorporation into national law, power
tools that are no longer suitable for must be separately collected and
sent for recovery in an environmental-friendly manner.
Warranty
Our equipment is under warranty for at least 12 months with regard to
material or production faults in accordance with national legislation.
In the EU countries, the warranty period for exclusively private use is
24 months (an invoice or delivery note is required as proof of pur-
chase).
Damage resulting from, in particular, normal wear and tear, overloading,
improper handling, or caused by the user or other damage caused by
not following the operating instructions, or any fault acknowledged at
the time of purchase, is not covered by the warranty.
Complaints will only be acknowledged if the equipment has not been
dismantled before being sent back to the suppliers or to an authorised
NAREX customer support workshop. Store the operating instructions,
safety notes, spare parts list and proof of purchase in a safe place. In ad-
dition, the manufacturer’s current warranty conditions apply.
