MM-160 User Guide
General Characteristics
The MXL MM-160 is an omnidirectional lavalier microphone built for cell phones, tablets, and other portable media devices. The 6 ft.
cable features a built-in headphone jack to allow playback from the mobile device without the need to unplug the microphone.
The MM-160 cable plugs into the 3.5mm (1/8”) jack of your mobile device. Depending upon the recording app used, it should detect the
external microphone automatically. If it does not, consult the app’s instructions.
Microphone Cable
The MM-160 has a built in 6ft long 3.5mm TRRS cable with a built in splitter to a 3.5mm headphone jack. This will allow you to connect
directly to a mobile phone or tablet and still be able to use the headphone output for monitoring and listening to playback of audio. Audio
monitoring while recording is dependent upon the app used.
Care
Dust and foreign materials can degrade the performance of a microphone over time so always store the unit in a clean, moisture-free
environment. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the microphone as needed.
