REPACKING YOUR LIFE JACKET
If your inflatable life jacket has been used and/or the hydrostatic
inflator replaced, always inflate through the oral tube and check that
it stays inflated at least overnight. With the dust cap in the top of the
oral tube, gently squeeze the life jacket until all air or gas has been
expelled. Do not wring or twist the inflatable life jacket. Put the oral
tube cap back in its stowed position (Fig. 2) on the oral tube. Let the
life jacket dry before packing.
BEFORE FOLLOWING THE REPACKING SEQUENCE, BE SURE TO PROPERLY RE-ARM
YOUR INFLATABLE LIFE JACKET (SEE "RE-ARMING YOUR LIFE JACKET," PAGE 9).
ENSURE ALL AIR IS REMOVED BEFORE REPACKING.
1) Lay the life jacket on a flat, clean surface. Make sure the whistle is
inserted into the elastic whistle retainer. The elastic should hold
the whistle mouthpiece (Fig. 17).
THE FOLD LINES ON THE DIAGRAM ARE PROVIDED TO ASSIST WITH PACKING.
2) Fold wearer's right side (A) inward along the full length of the
dotted line (Fig. 18). Fold cover (B) over side (A) (Fig. 19).
3) Repeat step 2 on left with side (C), cover (D) (Fig. 20 and 21).
