You Will Need:

  

• Utility knife 
• Unleaded fuel 
• Tire pressure gauge
• 1/2" combination or deep socket wrench
• 7/16" wrench

Make sure you have all items before assembly.

      

• 5/16” Flange Lock Nuts, 2
• Ignition Keys, 2 (1 pre-attached to snowthrower)
• 5/16” Hex Nut, 1
• Hair Pin, 1 
• Zip Ties, 2
• 5/16” Lock Washer, 1
• Carriage Bolts, 2
• 120V Power Cord, 1 

Remote Deflector Control

Crank

Traction Drive Lever

Raise Handles and                   
Check Cables

 1.  Cut orange zip ties that secure 

control cables to handle assembly. 
Be careful not to cut or damage the 
control cables.

 2.  Rotate upper handle assembly (

up.

 3.  Slide carriage bolts (

) and 5/16” 

fl ange lock nuts (

C

) into lower holes. 

DO NOT TIGHTEN AT THIS TIME.

 4.  Remove shipping tape from control 

levers. Make sure the “Z” bend 
ends of the control lever cables are 
secured in the holes on the control 
levers as shown.

 5.  Check that all cables can move 

freely and are not kinked.

 6.  Tighten upper and lower nuts in 

handle with a 1/2” wrench or deep 
socket wrench.

Connect Shift Rod

 1.  Connect shift rod (

) to shift lever 

(

) and secure with lock washer 

(

) and 5/16" hex nut (

). Tighten 

hex nut with a 1/2" wrench while        
preventing stud (

) from turning 

with  a 7/16" wrench.

Install Chute Rotator Crank

 1.  Insert chute rotator crank rod (

through hole in dash and          sub-
dash.

 2.  Align small holes before inserting 

end of rod into universal bushing 
(

J

). 

 3.  Push straight side of hair pin (

K

through both small holes until it 
clicks into place.

Remove Snowthrower          

From Crate

 1.  Cut straps from between 

snowthrower and wood pallet by 
wheels and auger.

 2.  Roll snowthrower off crate.

Check the Cables

 1.  If control cables have become   

unattached from motor mount   
frame, reconnect traction drive 
cables (

L

) and auger drive cables 

(

M

).

Note:

 The cables were adjusted at the 

factory and no adjustments should be 
necessary. However, after the handles 
are put in the operating position, the 
cables can be to tight or too loose.
If an adjustment is necessary see 
“Check and Adjust the Cables” in 
the MAINTENANCE section of the   
Operator’s manual.

Assemble the Drift Cutter 

Drift cutters are used to cut a path 
through snow deeper than the auger 
housing.

 1.  On each side of auger housing (

N

), 

insert carriage bolt (

P

) through 

upper hole.

 2.  Insert lower tab of drift cutter into 

lower hole. 

 3.  Secure with wing nuts.

Secure Cables and Final Checks

 1.  To prevent wires and chute     

defl ector cable from contacting    
tire, secure with zip ties to right  
handle just below dash (

) and 

below bend (

).

 2.  Reduce tire pressure to 14 PSI. 

(Tires are over-infl ated for shipping 
purposes.)

 3.  Check that clean-out tool is attached 

to snowthrower. (See assembled 
fi gure.)

Always use a clean-out tool to clear 
clogged discharge chute. NEVER use 
your hands.

 “Right” and “Left” are from the Operating Position.

Check Oil Level and Add Fuel

      WARNING:

 Fuel and its vapors are fl ammable and explosive. Turn off engine and wait at               

 

least 2 minutes before refueling. Let spilled fuel evaporate before starting engine.

 

Note:

 Engine is shipped with oil. See Engine Manual for complete engine oil            

specifi cations and maintenance requirements. 

Notice:

 Do not use E22 or E85 fuel.

Notice:

 Do not mix oil with fuel.

 1.  Remove oil dipstick (

). Check oil level. Oil level should be between FULL and ADD marks. 

Reinstall oil dipstick.
