7.5.1 HP pump – Relief bore check
DANGER
Unguarded rotating and moving engine components.
Risk of serious injury – danger to life!
• Take special care when working on a running engine.
WARNING
Engine noise above 85 dB (A).
Risk of damage to hearing!
• Wear ear protectors.
Checking HP pump relief bore
1.
Check relief bore for oil and fuel discharge
by visual inspection.
2.
If relief bore is contaminated, stop the en‐
gine, disable engine start, and clean relief
bore.
3.
Note the following in case of fluid dis‐
charge:
• Heavy discharge means continuous dis‐
charge of fluids (leakage). Contact Serv‐
ice.
• Minor discharge of fluids up to 10 drops
per day is normal (moistening) and not
considered a leakage.
